Tim Arvidson, who participated in the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection and unsuccessfully ran as a Republican for Colorado Senate, was arrested yesterday after allegedly shooting and killing a man in Colorado Springs.

According to the arrest affidavit, Arvidson approached his neighbor and accused a group of people of selling drugs and having guns. After an altercation, Arvidson then allegedly shot 43-year-old Robert Dougher, who later died of his injuries.

In a series of Facebook posts, Arvidson boasted multiple times about taking part in the Jan. 6, 2021, riot, posting a photo of himself driving to the event, uploading a video of it as he participated, and later processing what he “experienced.”

On the way to Washington, D.C., Arvidson posted a selfie with the comment, “We may stay a while. We’re pissed. This isn’t going to happen! Stop The Steal!”

In Washington, D.C., Arvidson posted a video of the marchers as they headed toward the Capitol.

The video, showing protesters carrying flags and signs in Washington D.C., is set to “Born To Be Wild” by Steppenwolf. “Wow, look at this,” can be heard in the background as the camera pans the marching demonstrators, many in military fatigues.

Later on January 6, he described his experience at the Capitol in another Facebook post.

“So, after a few cocktails, [xxxxxxxx] and I have been processing what we experienced today. First and foremost, we have never ever, met so many wonderful patriotic Americans. Truly upset, demoralized and concerned for our country! Black, White, Hispanic, Asian, Gay! We even discussed with our new friends; how it inferioriated the left, how their attempts to divide us based on our differences did not work.”

“It was amazing! The love we shared as patriots! Our bond for our love of country; instant love for each other! There was an element of anger in the crowd today. People have had it: with the hypocrisy, the favoritism and corruption. I think what hurts the most is how corrupt Republicans have been exposed! And Fox News ( they played us )!

“The election was stolen, I was an Election Judge in Colorado this current election; the election was stolen; my sworn oath will suffice! Antifa OR Anarchistic organizations infiltrated the events that transpired today! I WAS THERE, on-site all day with my wife. As soon as we got to the Capitol, we knew! This was bad. But, there was also a very deep undercurrent of disgust with our government! Everyone was pissed off! There were people there in Wheelchairs, Walkers and Oxygen Tanks; pissed! With their last breath, they were going to be there; having their voice heard. This Country is fractured, this is not over; it has just begun! Today made us realize that our greatest enemies are the Republicans, we thought we could count on! Look at tonight’s electoral college votes? Georgia was the same scam as Nov 3rd! Keep fighting, don’t stop, don’t give up! We are now DISENFRANCHISED! Our votes DO NOT COUNT! We are NOT FREE! Fight for you Constitutional rights!”

Arvidson later wrote on Facebook that the FBI came to his “door.”

“I feel like a ‘Dark Cloud’ has been lifted. My wife and I were steps from the Capitol Building on J6, never went in, but the FBI was alerted by my younger FAT, Childless, Manless, Woke Sister that we were there! And yes, the FBI came and knocked on our Door,” he wrotre.

Last year, Arvidson continued to promote election conspiracies, despite holding the position of chair of the Castle Rock Election Commission.

At one commission hearing, Arvidson, introduced a letter containing debunked election conspiracies about Dominion Voting Systems and rigged elections in Venezuela. The letter was written by John Case, one of the attorneys for election conspiracist and Mesa County Clerk Tina Peters. Her jail sentence for election tampering was shortened by Gov. Jared Polis last week.

Asked by the Colorado Times Recorder about the letter earlier this year, Avidson said he’d introduced it for transparency. He said he wanted the Castle Rock City Council to see it.

“With recent media reports of Election Irregularities and Fraud nationwide, and in the State of Colorado, our Elections Commission has decided (4-1), to provide transparency regarding these issues to our Town Council and Citizens,” Arvidson told CTR via email. “Colorado Secretary of State, Jena Griswold has stated she will not provide voter roll information to the federal government!  This is not only concerning, but possibly illegal! This is NOT a partisan issue!  Election Integrity affects every vote in every race; local, state, and federal! Recently the United States Director of National Intelligence; Tulsi Gabbard issued a shocking statement regarding election machines and the software that they run on. [Gabbard’s statement, made during a cabinet meeting back in April, raises the unproven conspiracy theory that election results were ‘manipulated’ by hackers.] We are monitoring this situation closely.”

“Yes, there will be future discussions by the Town of Castle Rock Elections Commission in providing ‘transparency’ in response to the ongoing flow of information regarding Election Irregularities and Fraud, as well as Federal Executive Orders regarding accurate Voter Rolls,” Arvidson continued. “We will adhere to the Town of Castle Rock Charter regarding local elections and will steadfastly demand Election Integrity for the Citizens of the Town of Castle Rock… Any decisions regarding ‘actions’ in any Local Election (Town of Castle Rock) will be made by The Town of Castle Rock Town Council.”
